Proposal for an Experiment to Detect Macroscropic Quantum Coherence with a System of Squid’s
The proposed experiment seeks to obtain the following results: (1) Discover the existence of a pure macroscopic quantum coherent state (MQCS) by measuring the quantum states of an rf SQUID with two symmetrical potential wells. (2) Once this first goal is accomplished, a set of measurements could distinguish the part of the MQCS damping due to the interaction with the environment from that possibly due to the presence of wormholes, as, for example, predicted by some theoretical approach to the quantum gravity.
