Abstract

The Halstead-Reitan Neuropsychological Battery (HRNB) was designed to assess reliably, validly, and completely the behavioral correlates of brain function (Reitan, 1986). The HRNB consists of measures in six categories: (1) input; (2) attention, concentration, and memory; (3) verbal abilities; (4) spatial, sequential, and manipulatory abilities; (5) abstraction, reasoning, logical analysis, and concept formation; and (6) output (Reitan & Wolfson, 1993). It consists of the Halstead Category Test (CT), Speech Sounds Perception Test (SSPT), Seashore Rhythm Test (SR), Tactual Performance Test (TPT), TMTA& B, Reitan-Klove Sensory-Perceptual Examination (RKSPE), Reitan-Indiana Aphasia Examination (RIAE), Lateral Dominance Examination (LDE), and Halstead Finger Tapping Test (FTT) (Reitan & Wolfson, 1993). The WAIS is usually included in the battery. With the exception of the LDE, all of these tests are described in the Part III of this book.
