Abstract
It is a great pleasure to honor Dr. Thews. I am going to talk about two aspects of his works, the optical method and the diffusion process. In the 1870’s, Tyndall devised the dual wavelength spectrophotometric method using a single light source and spectrometer with a differential galvanometer (Fig. 1).
