Abstract
Idiopathic thrombocytopenia purpura (ITP) in adults is a relatively common hematologic problem. Splenectomy is seen as therapeutic means to increase the incidence of definitive remission in patients with chronic ITP. The predictive factors at short and long term success of splenectomy are still ill-defined and questioned13.
