Abstract
Five quench heater designs have been developed for testing in the GDSS lot A dipole model magnets. Design test features were chosen to quantitatively indicate the quench performance enhancements for various modifications to the heater strip geometry and encapsulation. The quench performance of each heater design has been predicted using previously-developed analysis tools and these predictions will be compared with test data. The conclusions reached on the relative performance benefits gained will be applied to the baseline quench heater design for the SSC collider dipole magnets.
