Abstract
The invitation to chair the final Panel Discussion at the end of a prestigious meeting like this was difficult to refuse, especially when the invitation was extended by someone as persuasive as John Catravas (in a similar context, Judah Folkman once remarked that the gene for effective flattery is present in only a few gifted individuals, but the receptor is widely distributed). Having accepted the invitation, the Chairman of the final session then basks in the rosy glow emanating from his well-massaged ego until the time comes (usually the evening before the final session) to review the full enormity of the task before him.
