Abstract

The importance of the problem of pattern formation in nonequilibrium systems, especially biological pattern formation, and also the different kind of the mathematical models for their description has already been discussed in many articles, reviews and books (see references in Haken 1977; Haken 1983; Nicolis & Prigogine 1977; Murray 1977; Murray 1989; Murray & Maini 1986; Vasil’yev et al. 1987).
