Abstract
It is always a privilege to be invited to make the opening remarks at a meeting held in honor of a distinguished colleague. When that individual is also a dear friend, then the privilege is further enhanced and becomes a rare pleasure. And so it is this morning when we meet to honor Angelo Miele on the occasion of his upcoming 70th birthday.
