Abstract
The LHC (Large Hadron Collider) proposed at CERN and the SSC (Superconducting Super Collider) under construction in the United States have much in common from an accelerator physics point of view. I have worked on the SSC in one way or another since 1983, and so I am much more familiar with the history and plans for execution of that project. As a result, more of my examples and illustrations will come from the SSC.
