Abstract
A metadatabase prototype based on the basic elements described in chapter 5 has been developed to verify the metadatabase model and illustrate the concepts. The prototype supports enterprise information management at all three levels (file transfer, global query, and data and knowledge management), plus the management of information model resources themselves. A detailed description of the operation of the system is provided in this chapter, which in essence is a simulated demonstration. Some advanced functionalities such as adaptability and scalability are also shown in Section 9.4 of Chapter 9. A viable EIM is, therefore, presented.
