Abstract
Mark Anthony had to face a hostile mob who supported Brutus and opposed his allegiance to the recently assassinated Julius Caesar. He wants to convince the crowd that they are mistaken in thinking Brutus is an honorable man. Presenting some simple historical facts needs to be done very carefully so as not to annoy the crowd. First, he has to get them to listen.
