Abstract

There are many competing models of trade with imperfect competition. These models often give quite different policy implications as a result of different assumptions and specifications. Notable trade models with imperfect competition include Brander and Spencer (1984, 1985), Cheng (1988), Dixit (1984, 1988), Eaton and Grossman (1986), Krishna (1989), Krishna and Itoh (1988), Krugman (1984), Spencer and Jones (1992), and Venables (1985), among others.
