Packaging material as a source of taints

  • Chapter
Food Taints and Off-Flavours

Abstract

Modern consumer packaging in its various forms plays a number of important roles, such as protecting and preserving the quality of the product, easing handling, enhancing sales appeal and presenting information. For foods, the most important roles are providing protection from external contamination and preserving the quality.
