Figure 17 is the first of many that will relate direct and reverberant field measurements in large enclosed spaces. The equation that gives the reduction in sound pressure as we move away from a point source is as follows:

$$ {(P)^2} = {W_A}{\rho_0}c(Q/4\pi {r^2} + 4/R) $$

We can state this loss in decibels as follows: <Equation>2</Equation>

$$ {L_p} = 10 + \log {W_A} + 10\log {\rho_{{_0}}}c + 94 + 10\log $$
$$ (Q/4\pi {r^2} + 4/R) $$
