Abstract

The radioactivity of the primary system is one of the special problems of the operation of sodium-cooled fast breeder reactors. It is caused by activation of the coolant and by radioactive corrosion and fission products. The interaction of many parameters in technical plants, the difficulties of examination important values without injury at the same time the operation of the plant make it necessary, to examine individual fission products in laboratory scale. 95Zr/95Nb belong to these fission products, which must be expected to enter into the sodium system in case of more serious fuel element damages.
