Abstract
A series of pull-out tests with different load histories have been conducted in order to study the cyclic bond behaviour of a reinforcing bar in concrete. In parallel, the acoustic emissions (AE) were recorded with an array of 8 piezo-transducers in that way that the broadband waveforms were stored. A number of 50 up to 300 events were recorded during the different experiments. The analysis of our data shows an interesting pattern (in time and location) of the AE events. To interpret the fracture behaviour we compared the waveforms and the localizations of the events with our models. A couple of typical AE waveforms were found, which can be interpreted as the signals of different fracture processes. The similarity of the events of one cluster was checked by calculating the coherence of the signals. We found that the coherence was high in the frequency range below the noise level < 300 kHz).
