Abstract
This contribution summarizes the extant facts on the causal processing of the perceived orientation of the visual field and one’s own body to the vertical, the conclusions derived from them and the hypotheses evoked by, as well as the theories developed from these findings. Due to limitations of space the evidence which supports them cannot be detailed here, but may be found at especially cited places of the literature.
