In China, work on clinical pharmacology, blood level monitoring of antiepileptic drugs are carried on in many laboratories of medical schools and teaching hospitals, in laboratories of hospitals in large cities as well. Phenytoin (PHT), carbamazepine (CBZ), sodium valproate (VPA-Na) and phenobarbital (Pb) are the main antiepileptic drugs under investigation.
