Abstract
In order to describe the electrical behaviour of a cell, electrophysiological analysis attempts to establish the electrical equivalent model of the preparation under study and to determine its parameters. This can be done by studying the response of the cell to an electrical excitation, which most often has the form of a step current, a sinusoidal current, or a voltage step.
