Abstract

The simple demonstrations presented in the last chapter were intended as an introduction to the supplementary field solutions arising from extending Maxwell’s equations into the bitemporal domain. Although the examples were limited to some very special everyday configurations that could be analyzed by simple mathematics, the results served well to illustrate some of the basic new features concerning single photon behavior in the neoclassical theory. But the analysis was not general enough for the many configurations and cases discussed in the forthcoming chapters.

‘The truth of a single proposition derives not from its “correspondence” with reality, but from being embedded in a true theoretical system. The truth of such a comprehensive system, in turn, derives from its generality and the logical simplicity of its foundations.’

Albert Einstein
