Abstract

West’s syndrome (WS) is an age-related epilepsy syndrome that is considered one of the most refractory epilepsies of childhood. Although up to 25% of the cases may exhibit spontaneous recovery in the first year from the seizures,14 nearly half the patients are left with intractable epilepsy and mental retardation.12
