Abstract
It gives me great pleasure to introduce this section of the Proceedings. It represents the efforts of several authors to develop a panel on the “Status of the Knowledge of Ephemerop-tera.” When Eduardo Dominguez, as convenor, asked me to coordinate this panel, I was very enthusiastic and totally convinced of the importance of the topic. I contacted colleagues with geographical interests from around the world who made my work easy, thanks to the magnificent cooperation of every proposed participant. We never intended an exhaustive revision but only a summary of the present status of mayfly taxonomy. For personal reasons, Yeon Bae (Seoul Women’s University) could not travel to Argentina, but his contribution is included herein.
