Abstract

Skin reacts to chemical, mechanical, and immunological injuries in a variety of ways depending on the intensity, time course, and spatial distribution of the stimulus. Eczema is one such pattern of response. The intraepidermal edema and inflammatory reaction are together responsible for the clinical picture of eczema and an enormous amount of discomfort, disability, and economic loss (Marks, 1992)
