Abstract

Psoriasis is a chronic remittent disease of unknown cause that is still not curable. These facts imply the need for new treatments. Unfortunately they also imply that assessing the severity and progress of the disease is problematic. Although advances are being made regarding genetic and pathogenic backgrounds of psoriasis (see Ortonne, 1996, and references therein) we are currently defining the endpoint, thus measuring the outcome of the disease.
