Abstract
Nuclear Medicine techniques have been used to localise inflammation / infection for more than 40 years (3). 67-Ga scintigraphy, 99mTc-nanocolloids, 111-In and 99mTc in vitro labelled leukocytes, antigranulocyte monoclonal antibodies are available in different countries for this purpose. Such techniques are useful to detect inflammation, but they are not capable of differentiating septic from aseptic inflammation.
