Abstract
Designing an OpLog system, implementing it, and adjusting it according to changing conditions in the theater of operations depend on updated, relevant and reliable information. Logistic information is derived from quantitative and qualitative data that must be filtered, processed and routed in accordance to the logistics decision-maker’s needs. The quantitative data include inventory levels, transportation capabilities (such as the load capacity of a convoy), time parameters (such as force accumulation time), service rates (of maintenance and medical units) and consumption rates. Qualitative data is typically contained in situation reports.
