Abstract
In this chapter some important issues on the geometric chart are discussed. Although the geometric charts are shown to be suitable for the monitoring of high quality processes, it also has some problems since the standard assumptions are similar to those of the traditional Shewhart chart. Some modifications are necessary for more accurate interpretations. Although it is not possible to eliminate all potential problems, we could minimize the risk of encountering problems by adjusting the operating procedure or optimizing the control limits, as suggested in the following sections.
