Abstract

Dan Yaron was born in Poland and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1935. His teenage years were spent in Tel-Aviv. He was a member of Kibbutz Manara between 1946 and 1951, prior to returning to school to earn a Bachelor of Science and Master’s degrees in Agriculture at the Rehovot campus of the Faculty of Agriculture of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Yaron completed his Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics at Iowa State University, under the supervision of Earl Heady, in 1960. Upon his completion, Yaron returned to the newly established Department of Agricultural Economics and Management of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Rehovot.
