Abstract
Precipitation is the most critical and variable climatic parameter in Israel. In this arid and semiarid country with its relatively high temperatures, rain is most significant. Formerly, as well as currently in many third world countries, prolonged droughtbrought death to plants, animals and humans.
When His voice resounds with the great mass of water in the heavens, and he raises vapors from the ends of the earth; when he makes lightning flashes among the rain, and brings forth the wind out of his storehouses. Jeremiah 10, 13
