Climate terms are generally relative; the definition of climate terms is not necessarily uniform around the globe, sometimes not even within the same country. For instance, the perception of precipitation may refer to snow in one region, and drizzle or showers in another. High temperatures in Jerusalem are relatively low temperatures for Tel Aviv. Thus, the focus of this chapter will be comparing Israeli climate data to that of other global regions, the possibility of subdividing Israel into climatic regions and how the concept of seasons applies to Israeli weather.
