Abstract

Progress in Basic and Clinical Immunology contains 62 chapters grouped into 11 sections: T-Cells, Immune receptors, Antigen presentation/Dendritic cells, Cytokines, Immunodeficiences, Autoimmunity, Allergy/Inflammation, Immunotherapy, Vaccines, Tumor immunology and Cancer immunotherapy. The best represented is Cancer immunotherapy section which contains 16 chapters. About one half of all chapters were prepared by invited speakers, and the second half by authors of workshop chairmen recommendations and in a small part on geographical localization. Each section contains both types of papers, those prepared by invited speakers and those submitted by workshop contributors. Some Chapters, especially those prepared by invited speakers are of the state-of-art type reviews, while other present original experimental data. We were unfortunately unable to include all communications from EFIS 2000 in this volume. However, abstracts of all the works are published in a Special issue of Immunology Letters 73:75–302, 2000 the official journal of the European Federation of Immunological Societes.
