The framework in the previous chapter is a very generic means of performance signalling: it enables a network node to retrieve Performance Parameters which can be used in numerous ways. To underline this general applicability, the description did not go into details about what to do with the information obtained from PTP This chapter, on the other hand, is very specific: only the “Available Bandwidth” Performance Parameter is used in one particular way, PTP is utilised in only one manner. If, in terms of object oriented software design, the previous chapter was a class, this chapter is an instance.
