Abstract
Architects and lead designers sit down to write chip or system specifications at the start of a project. Typically, they follow a standard format. They list features, acronyms, diagrams, interfaces, registers, modes, pinouts, electrical specifications, and so on. This information might be in one main document or broken out into a series of documents. Either way, the result is many pages of useful documentation.
