Abstract
In order to study the behaviour and performance of DR/ATM, the scheme was implemented within a routing simulator, which was developed on the basis of a commercial simulation tool. The simulations are divided into a connection-level and a cell-level part. Cell-level simulations are carried out to determine CAC parameters for the ATM network model. At the connection-level, call-by-call routing simulations were carried out, using the CAC parameters obtained at the cell-level. The relevant performance results for the ATM routing schemes, such as the call blocking probability, are obtained at the connection-level.
