Abstract

The differential diagnosis of circadian rhythm sleep disorder may be immediate or prove more delicate, depending on the case, i.e., immediately apparent from the clinical interview in the case of shift work sleep disorder or time zone change (jet lag) syndrome, but more delicate in the case of a disorder due to the circadian sleep rhythm pathologically escaping the influence of environmental synchronisers (endogenous circadian rhythm sleep disorder with an exogenous component), implying that the disorder must be evoked and then confirmed by the relevant additional tests.
