Abstract
Dimensions of social organization are significant in the health and well-being of individuals and their families. Social organization is a term that describes the collection of values, norms, processes, and behavior patterns within a community that organize, facilitate, and constrain the interactions among community members. This entry highlights key aspects of social organization, community capacity, and social support with regard to primary prevention activities.
