Abstract
This entry addresses strategies to prevent stress among caregivers who are providing long-term care to older relatives. Because stress can negatively affect health, income, and general well-being, developing and testing prevention strategies is important for both older adults and caregivers. The entry assesses the effectiveness of three types of preventive strategies: (1) services, (2) education, individual counseling, and support groups, and (3) a multimodel that seeks change at both the individual and policy/organizational levels.
