Abstract

While there is widespread recognition of the problem of child maltreatment and the devastating consequences it can have for children, strategies for preventing the physical and sexual abuse and neglect of children between the ages of 5 and 12 are limited. Moreover, many current strategies have been criticized for placing the burden on children to prevent their own victimization and/or revictimization.
