Abstract
Some of the unanswered questions regarding movement-related cortical potentials (MRCPs) in general, and the Bereitschaftspotential in particular, concern their likely generators and whether these are active in parallel or sequentially. At the behavioral level, it still needs to be clarified, whether preparation, intention to act, anticipation or a combination of these contribute to the generation of different MRCP components. Alterations of MRCPs due to focal brain lesions may help to answer some of these questions.
