Sensory Pathways in the Dorsal Lateral Funiculus

Two major sensory pathways that ascend entirely in the dorsal lateral funiculus are the spinocervical tract, which relays in the lateral cervical nucleus in the upper cervical spinal cord, and the spinomedullary tract, which relays in nucleus z in the caudal medulla. In addition, the dorsal lateral funiculus contains components of the postsynaptic pathway to the dorsal column nuclei (see Chapter 9), of the spinothalamic tract, and of the spinomes-encephalic tract (see Chapter 11).
