Security Assessment in Vehicular Networks

Abstract

In this Chapter, we present an attack-defense tree model for VANETs security and privacy problems, which considered both attacker's and defender's strategies. We also introduce two concepts of Return on Attack and Return on Investment to represent the potential gain from launching an attack or adopting a countermeasure. Both the attack-defense tree and the introduced concepts are preparation work for the attack-defense game analysis of later work in Chap. 4.
