Robotics in General Surgery

Abstract

Robotic-assisted Roux-en-Y gastric bypass is effective, safe, and feasible for any bariatric surgeon to learn. The learning curve to become proficient in this new technology demands practice and patience and is achievable. New extended reach and smaller instruments will push adoption of robotic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, especially as more operations are described and published showing clinical benefits.
