Abstract
GEOMORPHIC SETTING: The Manhan River is a 28-mile-long river in western Massachusetts and a tributary of the Connecticut River. Most of its watershed contains forest cover, with farmland and low density suburban development in some areas. These features make it a healthy and resilient river with high biodiversity. Most of the channel exhibits stable meandering alluvial geomorphic patterns (Fig. 1).
