Abstract
This chapter details the resection of the right liver for a right hepatectomy, segments five, six, seven and eight. Once again the importance of the perihilar or posterior approach outside the Glissonian Sheaths is emphasised and, because a right hepatectomy is a more difficult dissection, the dangers associated with the procedure are emphasised. Right hepatectomy is sometimes extended to include other liver segments and the procedure extended to segment four, and right hepatectomy extended to include segment one are also described.
