Abstract
Lung development and lung repair following injury require a complex series of controlled interactions involving genetic influences, hormonal stimulation, and cell-cell communication. These components regulate the process of cell replication resulting in appropriate lung growth as well as in the re-establishment of the normal architecture of the lung.
