Distal Femoral Varus Osteotomy
The patient was identified in the preoperative holding area and the involved extremity was marked. The patient was brought into the operative suite and placed supine on the operating table. General endotracheal anesthesia was induced and prophylactic IV antibiotics were given. A tourniquet was placed over soft-roll on the proximal thigh. The operated limb including the ipsilateral hip was prepped free, and a small bump was placed under the hip. The preoperative drawings were reviewed showing for a desired correction of x°, the opening wedge would have to be xx mm at the femur osteotomy site.
