Abstract

The patient was identified and side marked in the preoperative holding area. He/she was brought into the operative suite and placed supine on the operating table. IV antibiotics were given. General endotracheal anesthesia was induced without difficulty. The R/L anterior flank was prepped and draped in the usual sterile manner. An oblique 3 cm skin incision was made parallel and slightly inferior to the iliac crest. The incision started 2.5 cm posterior to the anterosuperior iliac spine. It was deepened through the subcutaneous tissue.
