Abstract
Even when a child grows up in a two-parent family with a seemingly stable home life, a traditional family structure does not guarantee that a child will receive the necessary support and nurturing. Unfortunately, many children are suffering, and some of them will ?nd their way to your after-school program. An after-school program that only stresses improved academic skills is not enough. The group-centered approach combines both learning and counseling.
