Abstract

The introduction of robotic-assisted laparoscopic pyeloplasty (RALP) is changing the standard treatment for ureteropelvic junction obstruction. Demonstrating shorter operative times and hospital stays with long-term surgical success and complication rates comparable to open surgery, RALP has gained acceptance in children since its first report in 1995. This chapter describes the management of upper tract obstruction using the robotic-assisted laparoscopic approach and details the steps of RALP.
