Abstract
The da Vinci robotic platform has enabled surgeons to routinely perform complex robotic renal surgery. As surgeons continue to push the envelope with the limits of robotic surgery, robotic renal applications have continued to expand. Being familiar with the available robotic instrumentation and technologies will facilitate the safe and efficient completion of these procedures. It has taken several years since the introduction of the robot, but the development of new instrumentation and technology will allow surgeons to take further advantage of the capabilities of the robot in providing more precise surgery that will hopefully translate into improved patient outcomes.
